APPLICATION TO RENOUNCE ISRAELI NATIONALITY

An Israeli national age 18 and over who is not a resident of Israel, may declare in writing his desire to renounce his Israeli nationality.

He must submit a declaration for renunciation of Israeli nationality to the Consulate, after meeting the following requirements:

  1. Fulfillment of his obligations as a national: arranging of status according to Defence Law, registration of: marriage, divorce, children, etc.
  2. Submission of proof of another nationality, or an official letter, valid for two years, guaranteeing another nationality.

The following forms are required:

  1. Registration form for Israeli nationals abroad
  2. Declaration of renunciation of Israeli nationality

- Children under age 18 will be included in the application for renunciation of the Israeli parent.
- Children age 16-18 included in the application must attach a letter in which they express their consent or non-consent to be included in the request for renunciation.
[lozenge] All sections must be filled in; if you have nothing to fill in, draw a line through that space (for example, if you have no children, draw a line through the section on children rather than leaving it blank).

There is a $50 fee for every adult renunciation form submitted. This can be paid in cash or money order.

You must apply in person at the Consulate.

Note: As long as you have not received confirmation from the Ministry of the Interior of renunciation of nationality, you will continue to be considered an Israeli national.
